2015 Creature Weekend

Creature Weekend is proud to announce that it will be holding its 2015 conference at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio on May 1-3, 2015.  This year’s speakers include the cast of the Destination America Channel’s “Mountain Monsters”, Bill Brock from Destination America’s “Monsters Underground” and veteran Cryptozoologists Nick Redfern, and Chad Arment.

Mountain Monsters is a weekly show which airs on the Destination America Channel and showcases the exploits of the group known as The Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS) as they follow up on sighting reports of mysterious and menacing monsters lurking in the most hidden parts of Appalachia.

AIMS was founded by “Trapper” John Tice, Jeff Headlee and Willy McQuillian.  Longtime friends, the three discovered that they shared the same passion for the folklore of Appalachia, including tales of murderous beasts that purportedly roam the Appalachian Mountain region.  Any skepticism that they had soon dissipated as the three began having their own encounters with these creatures.  Eventually, the three decided to pool their resources and the result was the formation of the AIMS group.  The group later expanded to six members with the addition of Joe Lott, Bill Neff and Jake Lowe.

As stated on their website, the mission of AIMS is to “investigate mysterious sightings of creatures and phenomena in the Appalachian Regions, as reported by individuals who are frequently scared that they will be laughed at and ridiculed for what they saw.  Upon investigating these reports we will move to track, trap and capture these creatures.  In the end we will either know that our witness actually saw a mysterious beast or that no beast exists.  We want to help these people to have peace of mind and know that they are not alone in their mysterious encounters.”

Each episode of “Mountain Monsters” displays the group’s ingenuity at tracking and trap-making.  More information about Destination America’s “Mountain Monsters” can be found at

Trapper John and the cast of “Mountain Monsters” will be available for autograph signing and photo opportunities throughout the weekend.  They will be in attendance at the Friday night private “Dinner with the Speakers” event as well as the conference on Saturday.  Weather permitting, there will be a special “Mountain Monsters Safari” conducted on Saturday night following the conclusion of the conference.  At this event, the Mountain Monsters will lead a small group of attendees on a night expedition in search of the elusive Sasquatch at Salt Fork State Park.  For a complete schedule of activities, please refer to  The schedule is constantly evolving, so check back frequently for updates.

Bill Brock is a Cryptozoologist who has been researching Sasquatch and other Cryptids for years. Brock is the Team Leader on Destination America’s Television show, “ Monsters Underground”.   Brock and his team travel the country to check out sightings of cryptids like the Mapinguari and the Draco. Since “Monsters Underground” aired Brock has not slowed down. He put together Team Rogue in Maine to continue the search. Recently, Team Rogue investigated the Turner Bigfoot Sighting. This sighting is very interesting as it seems too good to be true. But is it? The team is still getting sightings in Turner, Maine. All this confirms something seems to be in the woods of Turner, Maine. Team Rogue spends many hours in the field. The team just returned from a 10 day road trip researching cryptids in the Ohio Valley. Brock has contributed Possible Sasquatch tracks found in the Chain Of Ponds area in Maine to the Cryptozoology Museum in Portland Maine. The tracks can be viewed at the Museum. Brock is also a film maker with multiple projects going on including a film about a Crypto/Paranormal Road Trip taken across the country.  Team Rogue will investigate cryptids such as the Mothman on this film. Be sure to check it out, Crypto-Paranormal Road Trip.

Nick Redfern is a bigfoot researcher and the author of many books on cryptozoology, including Monster Files; There’s Something in the Woods; Monster Diary; Wildman; and with Ken Gerhard, Monsters of Texas. He writes for Cryptomundo and Mysterious Universe. Nick has been on many expeditions to Puerto Rico in search of the Chupacabra, and has investigated reports of big cats in the UK, and lake monsters in the United States. He can be contacted at his blog:

Chad Arment has been involved in cryptozoological research for over 20 years.  His research is focused on lesser-known mystery animals, historical surveys of North American cryptids, and the scientific methodology behind cryptozoology. Chad operates Coachwhip Publications (, a print-on-demand book publishing venture, that publishes several cryptozoology titles and other authors. Chad’s published works include “Cryptozoology: Science & Speculation”, “Historical Bigfoot” ,  “Varmints”,  “Boss Snakes”.  Chad will be moderating the Saturday Morning forum discussion on Mountain Lion Sightings in the Ohio area and other parts of the Northeastern United States. He will also be giving a presentation at the Friday night dinner with the speakers about lesser known cryptids. At the end of his presentation, he will be giving a primer for aspiring cryptozoology authors on how they can get started publishing their own books on Cryptozoology and how to avoid the common mistakes that new authors make. This is a unique opportunity that you will not want to miss.
