Special Events at Salt Fork State Park LodgeStop. Look. Live. Every day is a special day, made even more special by Salt Fork State Park Lodge's special events. Each season’s special events bring its own special brand of uniqueness with plenty of good times, great food and grand fun, all of which are reflected in our service and dedication to you. All Special Events, unless otherwise noted are based on double occupancy in a standard double room. Children under 17 stay free with at least one paid adult. Additional adult rates are available on these promotions. All Special Events are based on availability and may not be valid on holidays. Taxes are not included in the rates. Quick breakfast items and snacks will be available at the lodge as well as lunch. The race director will be handing out race shirts to all runners as well as race numbers and beverages. See you on the trail! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________Kick Off to Summer CelebrationOn Friday and Saturday, June 22 - 23, 2012, celebrate the kick off to summer as Salt Fork Lodge is throwing the ultimate family party. Enjoy a bit of beach madness right here in Ohio’s largest state park with family activities, tournaments and culinary indulgence. Friday night includes an outdoor bonfire with stories of Bigfoot, s'mores and hot dogs! On Saturday, our culinary talents will be poolside featuring a traditional American barbeque for lunch, followed by an evening Luau featuring an authentic Hawaiian barbeque. You will also be entertained by one of Ohio’s best family-friendly bands, jammin’ poolside for a couple of shows on Saturday afternoon. In addition to the poolside party…Salt Fork is hosting corn hole, horseshoes, and volleyball family tournaments. Teams needed! Perhaps your family is also up for the Salt Fork Paintball challenge. Throughout your weekend stay, join our activities staff for a weekend filled with enjoyment. From tie dyed t-shirts, pontoon boat tours, eco-tours, geocaching, scavenger hunts and even an old fashioned sundae bar, our activities staff welcomes you to join in the fun! Within Ohio’s largest state park you’ll find adventure hiking to Hosaks cave, wading the waters at the Salt Fork State Park Beach or taking advantage of our kid’s golf free after 3:00 p.m. at the golf course. Finish your weekend on Sunday with an all you can eat breakfast buffet and omelet bar in Timbers restaurant followed by daily activities poolside. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________Fantasy Football Draft PartyFrom August 19 - September 8, 2012, bring your fantasy football league to Salt Fork for a personalized draft party. Enjoy a relaxing day by the pool with your family. You'll need it before entering the draft "war room." In order to properly conduct your league's draft, Salt Fork will have available a spacious VIP room complete with food and drink packages. The kind of special treatment any important team owner expects. So book your leagues draft today. League champions will be entered in a drawing for a free vacation. Mark Hanes at (740) 435-9001. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________A Day in the CountryOn Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21, 2012, bring your family and friends to enjoy our Appalachian music and country festival. Start the weekend off on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., area craft vendors will be providing their creations for sale such as Amish baskets, quilts, jams & jellies, and honey, just to name a few. Performances by Bluegrass musicians will be ongoing throughout the day, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. Information sessions will be held by folks from the Deerasic Park, Byesville Railroad, and Beekeepers. Of course it wouldn’t be a country festival without offering a little country food, delicious items to include soup beans and cornbread over an open fire with homemade ice cream for dessert. Some of the activities offered throughout the day include; hay rides, hikes, outdoor games, T-shirt tie dying, pie baking contest, pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating and scarecrow creating. End the day with a family bonfire. Enjoy the comfort of sitting by the fire while listening to a captivating tale told by our storyteller. On Sunday Bluegrass musicians will perform 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________Halloween in the ParkOn Saturday, October 27, 2012, join us for a fun-filled day and night. Starting at 1:00 p.m. your family will enjoy making crafts during our expansive Halloween theme crafts. Partake in pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating, and a coloring contest. On Saturday evening, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., bring your goblins to enjoy our haunted trail to the cabins where local businesses pass out treats. Rounding out the evening is a costume contest and party for kids of all ages. Late night scary movies will also be available in a theater setting.
